Note: A Christmas fic for Mouse. Merry Christmas!

The Christmas Tree appeared over night -- it was a stealth tree. A ninja tree.

It wasn’t the hotel’s doing. The first ornament was a simple red sphere, nothing the hotel would have selected for him. The second was a matching orb in silver. The third, slightly more ornate, was blown glass with a silver ribbon circling it.

Perry had a secret, which was that he had put up the tree. He’d found the first two ornaments, too, and as the days grew closer to Christmas, he continued to scour the hotel for non-sexual items that could be used to decorate their tree. But he hadn’t added the third ornament, and when the lights dimmed in their room and the tree lit up with a glow, he knew he hadn’t done that.

He caught Ferb watching him and pretended not to notice, and Ferb pretended he hadn’t noticed Perry noticing, and neither of them said anything. But a fourth ornament appeared on the tree, and then a fifth, and when there was finally a star to top it, Perry was with Ferb and saw real, honest surprise in his eyes.

For once, Phineas managed not to say anything. A week passed, with Christmas creeping closer, and the three of them added ornaments to the tree as they came across them. By Christmas Eve, it had begun to look like a real tree, with a red boa garland and ornaments on every branch.

They settled into the quiet glow of the tree with cocoa that night, presents wrapped in the artwork they'd been able to scavenge that wasn't erotic. Phineas hummed carols and generally gave a new meaning to the word 'Merry', and before he left for his own room he got Ferb to agree to just one present that night.

"Thank you," Ferb murmured to Perry as they put their mugs into the sink and climbed into bed, and Perry gave a tiny shrug.

"It's his favorite holiday." It had been years since he'd lived in the Flynn-Fletcher household, but Perry was secure in the knowledge that some things couldn't change, and Ferb didn't bother to contradict him. "Merry Christmas," Perry added.
